-> it just occured to me that in the Wordpress admin panel, under Options > Discussions, the box for “Attempt to notify any Weblogs linked to from the article (slows down posting.)” was checked off. This is somehow different from pings in that it attempt to notify any sites that you may have linked to in your post. Therefore, the more links the slower it is to post. Read more about this on the WordPress site.

Could you please remove the reference to the XML-RPC service on Blogbot.dk?
The service is only available to users who have signed up in advance. Other users are blocked. In order to sign up, the blog must be written in Danish and meet certain other criteria. So I don’t think it is appropriate to include in this list.
Currently I block several hits to the XML-RPC service per second. This is consuming quite a lot of resources on my little server.
